Night Out on the Town!
Want to do a little bar-hopping on a weekend night as a group? Then we have the event for you!
Bar hopping is always fun, but it's even more fun when you have a group with you.
The night will work like this: we'll pick a neighborhood and a number of great bars to visit (the fun ones!). Then, we'll meet at the first bar. Your host will greet you, check you in and introduce you to the others. Then the night begins!
We will spend approximately 35-45 minutes at each bar. You will also have the option of staying longer (if you're having fun) and meet up with the group at the next stop.
Bar hopping is always more fun as a group. You'll not only meet the people in the SCM group and the people at the bars, but you'll also meet the new acquaintances that your group makes! All in all, this event is a great way to meet a lot of people and enjoy an exciting Thursday night.
So join us! You'll be visiting the hot spots of the selected neighborhood (maybe you'll be introduced to some you didn't know about!) and meeting lots of new people.
Instructions: Please make your payment ahead of time. The meeting spot will be emailed to you right before the date of the event. Drinks are separate (each guest will pay for their own at the location).
The neighborhood for this bar-hopping event is: DOWNTOWN KIRKLAND!
Downtown Kirkland isn't the same Kirkland you might remember. There are a few NEW bars you need to checkout!
Tip: We've found that many people like to take a bus to the location and then a taxi home. The bus cuts the expense (and any parking lot fees) and the taxi ensures that you arrive home safely - then you don't have to worry about drinking and driving. Just a suggestion. We want you to have fun and be safe! :)

Red Table Dinner at Purple Restaurant!

Welcome to one of SCM's most popular and longest running events...it
is the Red Table Dinner!
This is a unique event that takes place at a popular Seattle restaurant.
We all enjoy a tasty 3 course meal, but there's a fun twist. Between
each course, we switch tables - with everyone enjoying a course with
different people. It makes for a fun and interesting evening. By the
time that you are finished with your dessert, you will have dined with
every guest at the event! 6-8 guests are seated at each table. This
is a wonderful way to visit a new Seattle restaurant, enjoy a delicious
meal and meet many new people.
THE RESTAURANT: Purple, located in Downtown Seattle, is a multifaceted food and wine concept that merges casual sophistication with an upbeat metropolitan style. We feature a global wine selection coupled with a menu that blends classic American styles, seasonal northwest ingredients and Mediterranean themes. The atmosphere is often described as an urban retreat with rustic elements.

RED TABLE BACKGROUND: This is one of SCM's most popular events!
This is a great event to attend by yourself because your table mates
will be changing throughout the meal. It works like this. At the  restaurant,
guests are seated around several different tables in the format of
"male-female." After the first course, men switch tables; after the
second course women switch tables. In so doing, all guests will have
their "scenery" altered three times throughout the dinner. This means
during each course, guests will be surrounded by new guests. There
are usually 6-8 people seated at each table. This is a perfect way
to meet new & interesting people while enjoying a scrumptious dinner.
New to SCM? This is a recommended event for newcomers because it's
easy and so much fun - enjoy a group dinner while meeting new people
with each course!
Vegetarian option will be available.

Starr Gallery Soiree

Cooking w Anita Spanish Paella Outdoors!

This is one of SCM's most popular events. It is a Team Cooking Dinner Experience!
The cuisine for this one is Spanish Paella Party and this one will be Outdoors!

This is a group cooking session followed by a scrumptious dinner in Anita's private and very charming home on Mercer Island. "Cooking With Anita" is Anita's business that she's been successfully executing for 12 years and has regular customers such as Microsoft and REI.
The evening works like this: When you arrive, you'll be welcomed with light nibbles. Then the group is divided into cooking teams and the preparation begins. Everything needed, cooking utensils and ingredients are in front of you. Anita will float from team to team answering questions as they come up. Once all the courses are prepared and ready, everyone is seated around a table decorated with flowers & an array of candles. It's time to enjoy the delicious dinner that we've created together! The rest of the evening is enjoyed around a lively table, consuming what we've prepared and getting to know each other. There's plenty of food for everyone. This isn't exactly a cooking class rather a team cooking adventure with Anita as the background consultant! Serving time is usually around 9 but can run a little later depends on the progress of the "cooks."
Mmmmm come join us for an evening of team cooking, group dining and great fun! Dinner is served around 9ish depending on how quickly the preparation goes. And there's a cat in the house in case anyone is allergic.

Sunset Sail on the Obsession in August

Welcome to one of SCM's most popular Summer events! It is sailboat ride on the "Obsession" - a 70 ft sailboat out on the open waters of Puget Sound - a scenic and exciting experience!
Imagine a full boat with friendly people all around you, the wind in your hair, sitting back and watching the beautiful Seattle scenery all around you. It's the quintessential Seattle experience!
The evening works like this: We all meet at the dock, Pier 54 of the Seattle waterfront. We board the sailing boat (a 70 ft yacht with a large open deck). Then, we take off and enjoy the ride. As we glide around the Sound, take in the sights of a sunset journey and socialize with the people around you! Depending on the wind, we might experience some swells in the water (hold on and have fun!).
There will be bottled water and light snacks available on the boat. Guests are asked to bring a bottle of wine, six-pack of beer or soft drinks with them on the boat. You'll find quite a bit of sharing going on during the boat ride.
Every trip, we'll get a few requests from people asking if they can bring their own snacks/goodies. Although it's not required, you may. If you bring enough to share, you'll find yourself a very popular person on the boat ride! Again, it's not required just for those who want to.
This sailing trip is three hours long and is perfect for groups of friends, couples, and singles as you will all have plenty of time and room to move about the boat and meet folks!
TIPS:
It is colder out on the boat than on land. You will be very happy if you bring a warm jacket even if it looks sunny during the day. It's also helpful to dress in layers. There will be a small area to store jackets and bags in the downstairs cabin.
Depending on the wind, the boat can sway from side to side, wear flat heels (not high heels).
For some reason, people get really hungry when they sail. We suggest eating a full meal before you arrive. We'll have snacks on the boat but most people appreciate something more substantial.
PLEASE ALLOW ENOUGH TIME TO PARK AT THE PIER. It's Summer so there are tourists, and parking & traffic are heavier than usual.
WHAT TO BRING:
Warm jacket (even if it's a warm day, bring a jacket - the wind makes it cold).
Bottle of wine, beer or soft drink
Sunglasses - nice to have

Parking can be easy or a challenge depending on the events at the pier that day, please allow plenty of time to find a spot. Sorry, the boat will not wait for latecomers - we need to give everyone their full 3-hour ride.

I-Spy Limo Scavenger Hunt One of our most popular events!

It's that time again! Time for one of SCM's most popular events...it's the I-Spy Limo Scavenger Hunt!! A high-spirited, exhilirating hunt around the Emerald City!
We will begin the evening at a secret location TBA for some pre-event mingling. There, you be organized into teams of 810 people, given instructions and the rules of the Hunt and then sent off in your very own classy stretch limo to complete your customized mission!
You will be given a list of tricky Questions to solve and unusual Pictures to take (a small camera will be provided). A strong knowledge of Seattle will NOT give you an added extra advantage. Each item will be worth points, some more than others, so it will be up to your team to determine which elements you will choose to search for ... do you go for the hard, high-point items, or lots of the easier, smaller-point items? The Winning Team will be determined by the one earning the most points!!!
Your team will have three hours to complete your mission. The limos will return to Pyramid by 10:00 pm where winners will be determined and prizes awarded.
Your limo will be stocked with a starter kit of refreshments and munchies to keep you energized on your hunt. Please remember to wear comfortable shoes as you will be covering a lot of ground.
TIME TABLE:
6:00 p Meet at secret location TBA for mingling.
6:30 Create teams and receive packet of rules, items to hunt for and
other necessary information and equipment
7:00 Teams leave promptly to begin the Hunt!
10:00 Teams return to secret location TBA to compare our spoils and determine who won.
10:30 Winning Team will be announced!

When: Saturday, Sep. 12, 2009 at 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM Optional mingling at the bar at 6:00 PM. You will break into your teams at 6:30 and be given instructions and necessary equipment.
Cost: $65.00 This includes costs for: Limo rental for 3 hours, 20 percent tip for your driver, starter kit of snacks and drinks in Limo, all necessary equipment for the hunt and prizes for the Winners!
